Jacqueline Woodson promotes Reading!
On October 16, 2019, National Ambassador for Young People's Literature, Jacqueline Woodson entertained over 200 New Jersey students at an event held at the College of New Jersey. The event was sponsored by The Literacy Alliance of NJ, comprised of the New Jersey Center for the Book, an affiliate of the Library of Congress, the NJ State Library, the NJ Library Association, the NJ Association of School Librarians, the College of New Jersey and Rutgers University.
Woodson introduced students to her program program Reading = HOPE x CHANGE (What’s your equation?) brings her together with her target audience, youth from around the state, in daylong activities designed to motivate their interest in reading. The program can be found at http://everychildareader.net/, and contains resources for use with juvenile and young adult readers.
